Jay Malwade

Jay has substantive experience in corporate law and M&A transactions, with particular expertise in the financial sector. Jay advises clients on contentious and non-contentious matters, specifically those relating to financial regulations. 

Jay is also experienced in commercial disputes and arbitrations, and has previously worked at the Mumbai office of a pre-eminent law firm. 

Highlights

Merger of AU Small Finance Bank and Fincare Small Finance Bank: Assisted and advised AU SFB in its proposed merger with Fincare SFB under the Banking Regulation Act, 1949 with a transaction value of USD 530 million.

JV between BlackRock and Jio Financial Services: Assisted and advised BlackRock on the regulatory aspects of its proposed asset management joint venture with Jio Financial Services Limited.

IAMAI v. Reserve Bank of India: Assisted IAMAI (Internet and Mobile Association of India) in Supreme Court proceedings relating to a government ban on the trading of virtual currencies.
