Akshat has substantial experience in commercial litigation and arbitration disputes. In arbitrations, Akshat has experience in domestic and international disputes, including those seated in London (ICC rules) and Florida (AAA rules). Additionally, Askhat is experienced in international trade and customs, indirect taxes, and competition law. 

Akshat writes regularly on matters of international law (including investment treaty law) and graduated with a specialization in trade and investment. Among other temporary work, Akshat has previously clerked at the Indian Supreme Court. 

Highlights

X (US) v. Y (Chile): Acted for a US software company in an arbitration (AAA rules, seated in Florida) against a Chilean entity relating to a software (SAAS) agreement. 

X v. Commissioner of Customs & Anr.: Acted for and advised a set of Indian exporters in a series of litigations in India arising out of notices alleging the deliberate misclassification of exports and the wrongful availing of export benefits. 

X (India) v. Y (Phillipines): Acted for and advised an Indian biotech company in an arbitration claim (ICC rules, seated in London) relating to an agreement for the supply of sub-licensed patented medicines to a foreign buyer.
